Mumbai: For the first time in decades, Mahindra is seeing an uptake in demand for its petrol vehicles.
A few years back, the SUV-maker didn’t have any petrol engine option for most of its products. Tides have, however, changed as the difference between petrol and diesel prices closed in.
Mahindra XUV300’s petrol avatar has now become a hit with more than 50 per cent demand for it, according to Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Mahindra Auto And Farm Sectors.
The newly introduced Thar is also seeing 20-25 per cent of sales from the petrol variants.
The company is reportedly planning to launch petrol versions of its bigger SUVs – Scorpio and XUV500 as well.
