Cuttack: Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Ananya Das on Sunday said the recent trend in the COVID-19 positive cases in the city has revealed that majority cases belong to the working class.
“Out of the confirmed cases in the city in the last seven days, 442 cases belong to the 21-41 age group which is mostly the working class. Taking this into consideration, people of this age group should exercise utmost caution in their workplaces,” she said.
Referring to the positive cases, Das said out of 3104 confirmed cases, 1227 are active cases while 1860 patients have recovered. Around 30 per cent of the active cases are in home isolation, 64 per cent in COVID Care Centres (CCCs) and the remaining 6 per cent patients are undergoing treatment at the COVID hospitals. As many as 17 people have died of the disease, she added.
The CMC commissioner said in order to identify the patients afflicted with the disease, arrangements have been made for the rapid test at 10 centres in the city.
