Balasore: The COVID-19 tally in Balasore district touched 636 on Friday with nine more persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Of the nine patients, six are local cases while two are from quarantine centres and another one detected among those in home quarantine.
Among the local cases, four are contacts of previous positive cases.
Among the quarantine cases, one is a Maharashtra returnee and the other two had recently travelled to Telangana and West Bengal.
Contact tracing of all positive cases is underway, the administration tweeted.
With 454 recoveries, the Balasore district now has 189 active cases.
