Make In Odisha Conclave: Invest In Downstream & Ancillary Units, Urges Industry Minister
Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s minister of Industries, Energy and MSME Pratap Kesari Dev invited investors to invest in downstream units in the state on the second day of Make in Odisha (MiO) conclave.
Principal Secretary (Industry) Hemant Sharma elaborately explained why investors should get involved in downstream industries in Odisha.
Sharma also flagged off the government’s focus on Hub, Clusters and Parks. Mentioning Angul Aluminium Park and Vedanta Aluminium Park, he called upon MSMEs to avail the opportunities.
Metal, downstream and ancillary industry as a sectoral session was conducted on Friday with top industry leaders addressing a huge gathering of industry captains, policy makers, investors and many others.
The Minister and Principal Secretary were presented the book ‘Aluminium – The Future Metal’, authored by Dr TK Chand.
Dev and Sharma complimented Dr Chand for creating awareness about aluminium applications and encouraging MSMEs and start-ups for setting up industries in Aluminium Parks.
Dr Chand said that Odisha is first in Bauxite, Alumina and Aluminium production, and will soon be top in downstream Aluminium products.
Lauding the state government for getting more than Rs 7 lakh crore investment on the first day of the conclave, Dr Chand invited investors who want to set up export-oriented and high-tech units to invest in Jharsuguda Aluminium Park. He stressed on the suitability of Angul Aluminium Park and Jharsuguda Aluminium Park for new investors to manufacture cables, extrusion items, Aluminium powder, foil, packaging material, etc.
