Mumbai: Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s ex-wife Dhanashree Verma is being brutally trolled by netizens for accepting Rs 4.75 crore alimony.
Hours after being granted divorce by the Bandra family court on Thursday, Dhanashree, who is also a choreographer, took to her Instagram handle and shared her new music video, ‘Dekha Ji Dekha’ in which her character gets cheated by her reel husband.
Soon, netizens took to the comment section and trolled Dhanashree for accepting an alimony of Rs. 4.75 crore from Chahal.
One of the users questioned, “Mam amount credit ho gya account m 4.75cr?”
Another wrote, “Gairo ke paiso se video shoot karate dekha.”
“Aapda ko avsar me badal diya,” a third commented.
“If asking for dowry is a crime, then so is for alimony,” another wrote.
Slamming Dhanashree for not having any self-respect, a user wrote, “Idk if she got cheated by him or not, but if she got, then why is she even accepting a huge amount of money in the form of alimony from him even after getting cheated. How can she live with his money? Doesn’t she have any self-respect left?”
A section of netizens also labelled Dhanashree as “chorni” for accepting the alimony.
Earlier this week, reports stated that as per the mutual divorce consent terms, Chahal has agreed to pay Rs 4.75 crore to Dhanashree.
On the day of the divorce, Chahal’s advocate, Nitin Kumar Gupta, confirmed, “The court has granted the decree of divorce, and both parties are no longer husband and wife.”
During their divorce settlement, Chahal wore a t-shirt with the slogan saying, “Be your own sugar daddy”, which netizens saw as a dig at Dhanashree for supposedly demanding a huge alimony from the cricketer, a claim that her family later refuted.
