Bhubaneswar: Even as a three-member Central team of the BJP arrived in Odisha on Friday to review the murder case of school teacher Mamita Meher, the party’s Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has questioned the reluctance of the state government in handing over the probe to CBI.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Sarangi asked if the government has nothing to hide anything and does not have any skeletons in the cupboard, it should announce CBI to investigate.
Asking the government why it was afraid of CBI probe, the MP said it should have the courage to face the investigation by Central investigating agency to clear the doubts of the people.
Apparently referring to alleged involvement of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra in the case, Sarangi said if he is innocent, the CBI inquiry will confirm it and he would be absolved of the allegation.
Meanwhile, a three-member central team of BJP comprising MP Sunita Duggal, BJP Mahila Morcha president Vanathi Srinivasan and MLA Rupa Mitra is scheduled to visit the spot in Kalahandi where the school teacher was buried after being murdered. The team formed by BJP president JP Nadda will submit its report after their visit.
