Mamita Murder: BJP Women Activists Rally To CM’s Residence, Demand Arrest Of Minister Dibyashankar; BJD Says Come With Proof
Bhubaneswar: Heavy police bandobast has been made near the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as BJP Mahila Morcha activists march towards Naveen Niwas seeking justice for Mamita Meher.
Hundreds of women BJP activists led by senior leaders took out a mock funeral procession from the party office to Naveen Niwas seeking CBI probe into the Mamita murder case and arrest of Minister Dibyashankar Mishra for his alleged link with the prime accused in Mamita murder case.
On the other hand, Congress has accused Odisha CM of shielding the Minister. “Naveen is in a fix over Mishra’s role and therefore, he didn’t take him during the former’s visit to Baripada yesterday,” said Congress leader Satya Prakash Nayak.
In its reply, the BJD has accused BJP’s Mahila Morcha of indulging in cheap politics over the Mamita’s assassination. The ruling party has asked the Opposition to come with proof for the allegations being made by them against the Minister and the government.
Left parties too staged a demonstration at Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar demanding High Court-monitored SIT probe, suspension of Minister and Rs 1 crore compensation for the family of deceased.
