Mamita Murder Case: Odisha BJP Debunks Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra’s Claim Of Being Innocent
Bhubaneswar: The BJP continued to target minister Dibya Shankar Mishra in Mamita Meher murder case as the party debunked his claim of being innocent in the case.
Speaking to the media, here on Thursday, BJP’s state general secretary Lekhashree Samantasinghar said it is surprising that even as the police investigation into the case is going on, the Minister of State for Home has given himself a clean chit.
On the minister’s statement statement on Wednesday that he had no role in the murder case, the BJP leader alleged that he was making such claim only because he has ensured that all evidences against him are destroyed.
On Mishra’s claim that all investigating agencies have cleared his role in the case, Samantasinghar asked which agency had given him the clean chit.
Referring to the statement of northern Range DIG Deepak Kumar that the minister was not present during the meeting between Mamita and prime accused Govind Sahu at Raipur, the BJP leader asked in what capacity was the DIG speaking on behalf of the minister?
“He (Kumar) is not the investigating officer in the case. Rather, he is misusing his post by putting pressure on his subordinates by giving such statements,” she said.
“Neither the minister nor the DIG can claim who is innocent and who is not. Only the court can decided it after an independent agency conducts the investigation impartially and submits the evidences before the former,” the BJP leader said.
