Man Abandons His Newly Wed Wife At Bus Stand In Odisha; Check Details

Jajpur: A 22-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly abandoning his wife at a bus stand just days after their marriage.

Police identified the accused as Kanha Nayak of Kulanga in Ganjam district. The 21-year-old woman is from Balichandrapur in Jajpur.

Police said Nayak worked in a private firm in Tamil Nadu. She came in contact with him on Facebook.

After a few months’ courtship, Kanha reached the woman’s house in Balichandrapur and then they got married.

The couple then left for Ganjam on November 20. After reaching Badambadi bus stand in Cuttack, the accused told her that he was going to fetch water but never returned. She returned home and filed a police complaint.

Police tracked Nayak’s mobile phone location in Ganjam and arrested him. The accused was produced in court and remanded in judicial custody.
