Man Arrested For Threatening To Bomb Bachchan & Dharmendra’s Houses
Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Monday detained a man for threatening to blow up the houses of Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra.
Last week, Nagpur Police Control received an anonymous call from a person who issued the threat. The caller also claimed there would be a blast at Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia. Nagpur Police Control passed on the information to Mumbai Police.
The ‘culprit’ is a 20-year-old visually impaired man from Pune, according to crime intelligence unit (CIU) of Mumbai Police’s crime branch.
The man stayed opposite a police station and wanted to check if Mumbai Police could reach him after making the hoax call, Hindustan Times reported.
As Mumbai Police started tracking the caller, the phone was switched off and the number turned out to be from New Delhi. One person was initially picked up from Delhi, but police found out he had not called.
The actual caller was later picked up from Lonikhand, in Pune. He suffers from near-sightedness and is unable to see beyond a certain distance. He apparently keeps visiting the police station near his house and is fascinated by their working style.
The man’s mobile has been seized and he will be handed over to Shivaji Park police where a case has been registered.
