Man Arrested In Sundargarh Double Murder Case
Rourkela: Police on Wednesday arrested a person for allegedly killing
his friend’s wife and her daughter over rejection of love proposal at
Orampada village in Sundargarh district on December 25.
The accused was identified as Shalil Bhengra, resident of Jharkhand.
He works as a driver in MCL.
The bodies of Nandia Minj, wife of Partik Minj and their six-year-old
daughter Smruti Minj were recovered from a locked room of their house.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Shalil, in an inebriated
state, had gone to Nandia’s house in absence of her husband on
December 25-night and proposed her. When the woman refused to accept
his proposal, the accused strangulated her to death. Later, Bhengra
murdered Nandia’s daughter as she witnessed the incident. He also
attacked the woman’s one-and-half-year-old son on his head but he
survived after being rescued and hospitalized”, Sundargarh SP Pinak
Mishra informed in a press conference here.
The accused has pleaded guilty to the crime he has committed. He will
