Bhubaneswar: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a man in front of his daughter following an altercation over car parking at Bhagwan Tower on Cuttack Road at Jharpada here on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Sankar Rout, Deepak Mohanty and Deepak Jena. They have been forwarded to court. Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi has asked the officer concerned to submit the chargesheet against them within three days.
The PCR van in-charge, who allegedly remained a mute spectator while the trio thrashed Parbinder Pal Singh, has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty.
The incident took place around 1.30 pm when Singh was retuning home at Bhagwan Tower with his minor daughter and he found a blue colour car blocking the apartment’s gate
When he asked the car owner to move the car, they started abusing him. Following which, he dialed the police control room. The PCR van reached after twenty minutes and while he was speaking to the cops, six to seven youths attacked him with bricks and stones. He sustained serious injuries on his face. They also looted Rs 15,000 in cash and his watch.
Later, Singh went to Laxmi Sagar police station to lodge his complaint, on basis of which the three were arrested and the PCR van in-charge suspended.
