Singapore: An Indonesian man from Sumatra region became a millionaire overnight after a meteor came through his roof.
Josua Hutagalung, a 33-year-old coffin maker, sold the 2.1 kg meteorite for over 1 million pounds, which amounts to nearly ₹9.8 crore.
It happened in August this year. He was reportedly working outside his house when the rock smashed through his tin roof. The stone was warm as he tried to lift it. He shared the images on Facebook which generated interest.
The stone is carbonaceous chondrite, an extremely rare variety estimated to be 4.5 billion years old.
