Sundergarh: A 50-year-old man was killed after being hit by a speeding truck at Kutra Square in Sundergarh district on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Muhammad Abdul Razak, was riding his motorcycle when the truck hit his vehicle around 7 am. He died on the spot.
Following this, an angry mob gathered at the accident spot and staged a road blockade demanding adequate compensation to family members of the deceased. They alleged that traffic police personnel did not make any effort to catch the driver, who fled away.
The situation was brought under control after police reached the spot and assured the agitators of prompt action.
