Man Dies, Son Critical After Being Run Over By Truck In Odisha’s Bhadrak Town

Bhadrak: A man was mowed down by a truck while his son sustained serious injuries near the new bus stand on National Highway No 16 in Odisha’s Bhadrak town on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Dhaneswar Behera of Ahias village in Jajpur district. His son, Chanda Sekhar Behera, was initially admitted to district headquarters hospital here and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, as his condition deteriorated.

According to sources, the father-son duo, en route to Jajpur from Charampa on a motorcycle, were run over by a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction after they hit a divider near Bhadrak bus stand and fell off their two-wheeler.

Police have sent the body for postmortem and initiated a probe.
