Phulbani: A man allegedly committed suicide after hacking his cousin to death at Udayagiri village in Lankagarh panchayat of Kandhamal district on Thursday.
According to available information, a heated argument broke out between Tikiri Beheradalie and Gobardhana Beheradalie over some issue. Irked over this, Tikiri picked up an axe and attacked Gobardhana, killing him on the spot. Following the incident, Tikiri went to a nearby forest and hanged himself to a tree.

On being informed about the incident from locals, police rushed to the spot and seized the bodies.
Though the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be known, locals suspect it to be the fallout of a past enmity over property dispute.
