Bhubaneswar: A pall of gloom descended on Hinjilicut in Odisha’s Ganjam district after the news of the death of a native due to COVID-19 in Mumbai reached the village on Thursday.
According to media reports, the deceased was residing at his uncle’s house at Chembur for the last five years and working in a private company in the city.
He was admitted to a hospital two days ago after his swab sample tested positive for the virus. However, his condition deteriorated and breathed his last on Wednesday.
The uncle of the deceased and other family members at his Mumbai home have been placed under quarantine, the reports added.
