Man Gets Wife Arrested For Drawing Father’s Pension Posing As His Widow
Lucknow: Forgery and trickery can pay dividends for some time, but is bound to be ultimately exposed.
The experience of a fraudulent woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district is a case in point.
In a daring act, Mohsina Parvej pretended to be her dead father’s widow and managed to withdraw pension amounting to Rs 12 lakh over a span of 10 years.
The woman’s game was up when her husband recently filed a complaint following which police arrested Mohsina.
The husband reportedly knew about the fraud, but kept quiet all these years. It was only after the couple had a fight that the man decided to approach police and filed a complaint against his wife
Vijarat Ulla Khan, a resident of Aliganj, retired from the post of lekhpal (surveyor) on November 30, 1987. He died on January 2, 2013, while gis wife had passed away earlier.
Following her father’s death, Mohsina fabricated documents and managed to fool authorities by posing as Vijarat’s widow. Over the next decade, Mohsina collected pension benefits without the authorities having any clue of her devious methods.
But then luck ran out for Mohsina as her husband decided to expose her.
Police was quick to react and arrested Mohsina after registering a case of fraud against her. A full-fledged investigation is underway.
