Deogarh: A man was allegedly hacked to death by his friend at a village in Odisha’s Deogarh district, reports said on Thursday.
The incident took place at Gohida village under the jurisdiction of Kundheigola police station following an argument between the two friends. The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Nayak (21).
Sources said the accused, Prabhat Kumura, and Nayak entered into a heated argument over some trivial issue. When the verbal duel escalated into a scuffle, Kumura took out a sharp weapon and hacked Nayak to death.
On getting information, a police team from Kundheigola rushed to the spot and detained the accused. They have seized the body and the murder weapon and launched an investigation into the incident.
