Man Held For Killing Wife’s Paramour In Odisha’s Cuttack
Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police arrested one Rakesh Biswal alias Kalia for killing his wife’s paramour and critically injuring her in Cuttack on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sanatan Das of Jagatsinghpur district, a daily wager, and the woman is Kalia’s wife Malati Biswal of CDA area in the city.
Earlier in the day, police had recovered Sanatan’s body and rescued a critically injured Malati from CDA Market area near College Square in the city.
Talking to mediapersons, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said Rakesh was waiting for an opportunity to revenge Malati for deserting him and staying with Sanatan.
“Taking opportunity of the weekend shutdown, Kalia went to the CDA market late Saturday night and found his wife and Sanatan sleeping near a shop. He killed Sanatan with a knife and stabbed his wife before fleeing the area,” the DCP said.
Malati sustained deep wounds on her stomach and has been admitted to the surgery ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Singh said and added that efforts are on to nab Kalia.
