Berhampur: A man was killed in a blast while making firecrackers in Khallikote area of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday morning.
According to reports, the incident took place when the man, identified as Jitendra Pradhan (30), was making crackers on the roof of his house at Karan Sahi. The explosive materials suddenly went off, killing him on the spot
The crackers were reportedly being prepared to be used during a special programme in the village. He was allegedly running an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit at his house.
On receiving information, a team of police personnel rushed to the site and sent the body to hospital for post-mortem. Further investigation is in progress.
