Man Kills Friend On Stealing Suspicion In Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: Police have arrested a man for allegedly killed his friend for stealing money in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

According to sources, Bijay Panigrahi and Rama Krushna Sahu of Gandala village under Hinjilicut police limits in the district have been friends for a long time and used to visit each other’s houses frequently.

A few days back, Rama found Rs 6,000 missing from his house. Suspecting that Bijay had stolen the money, he called Bijay to his home on Friday night.

When Ram accused Bijay of stealing his money, the latter strongly refuted the allegation and tried to convince the former of his innocence. It led to a heated argument between the two friends.

On being informed by Bijay’s father, a team from Hinjilicut police station went to the village and sent the body for post-mortem. They have registered a case and started investigation.

The IIC of Hinjilicut police station, Srinivas Sethi told the media that they had arrested Rama and forwarded him to court on Saturday.
