Balianta: A man was killed after being run over by an ambulance on Bhargavi bridge at Balianta, on the outskirts of the Odisha capital.
The deceased has been identified as Narendra Sahoo (66).

According to sources, the ambulance hit Sahu while he was crossing the bridge. He was rescued by passersby and rushed to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The driver of the vehicle, however, fled the spot soon after the accident.
On being informed, Balianta police reached the spot and seized the ambulance.
