Bhanjanagar: A man was tonsured for allegedly attempting to rape a pregnant woman at Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district on Saturday.
The accused was identified as Nibasi Mohanty, a resident of Rameswarpalli village under Jagannath Prasad police limits in the district.

According to reports, the victim was rescued by some locals who rushed to the spot after hearing her scream. They shaved the head of the accused, smeared his face with black ink and later handed him over to police.
The victim has also lodge a police complaint.
