Rourkela/Nilagiri: In yet another incident of man-animal conflict, an elderly man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Budhikani under Bisra Forest Range in Sundargarh district on Monday night.
The elephant dragged the deceased, identified as Umesh Mund (50), and crushed him under his feet while he was standing in front of his house.
According to the sources, a herd of elephants entered the village last night. Umesh was standing near his house when the elephant attacked him.
According to locals, this wild elephant had killed as many as 13 persons in Sundargarh district.
