Malkangiri: The Maoists have reportedly abducted five villagers suspecting them to be police informers.
The kidnapping took place in Bater village under Kantma police station in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, bordering Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
The incident came on a day when Odisha DGP Abhay is on a tour of Nuapada district to review the Maoists situation and had also claimed that there has been a decline in rebel activities in the last 18 months.
On the other hand, Maoists exchanged fire in Sagada forest in Kalahandi district. No casualties were reported till the report was filed.
