Maoists Kill Man Suspecting Him To Be Police Informer

Nabarangpur: Panic gripped villages in Umerkote block of Nabarangpur district following the murder of a man by a group of armed Maoists late on Monday.

According to sources, about 15-20 armed Maoists barged into Benasa village lat in the night and asked Tunu Gonda to accompany them. Later, they took him to a nearby forest and killed him by slitting his throat.

The villagers found the body of the youth in the morning and informed the police.

Following information, a team of Raigarh police with Nabarangpur SDPO rushed to the village for an on-the-spot investigation.

Police found some posters near the body in which the Maoists accused the youth of being a police informer

Following the incident, combing operation has been intensified in the area to track down the ultras.
