Kandhamal: Posters and banners of the banned CPI (Maoists) appeared on
Thursday at Kurtamgarh area under Tumudibandha police limits in
Kandhamal district, urging people to observe People’s Liberation
Guerilla Army (PLGA) week (from December 2 to 8).
Through posters, the Maoists also appealed to the locals to extend
their support to the Maoist movement in the district. The rebels also
mentioned in the posters that they would continue their fight for
land, water and women’s liberation.
The outlawed outfit has been observing the PLGA week since 2000 in the
memory of slain cadres Nalla Adi Reddy alias Syam, Murali and Naresh,
who were killed in an encounter at Koyyuru in Karimnagar of Andhra
Pradesh on December 2, 1999.
