Bhubaneswar: The Capital City witnessed a marginal drop in daily COVID-19 cases on Thursday when 844 people tested positive for the virus against 1044 on Wednesday.
Of the total cases on the day, 96 were from quarantine and 755 were local contacts. The number of recovered cases was 429.
Among the local contact cases, Patia continued to lead with 61 cases. The area has reported 64 cases on Wednesday.
Nayapally reported 58 cases, followed by 46 from Khandagiri, 37 from Old Town, 34 from Laxmi Sagar and, 32 from Chandrasekharpur, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
With the day’s addition, the total positive cases in the city have gone up to 43,296, while there are 6913 active cases at present. As many as 36,103 patients have recovered from the disease while 259 have succumbed.
