Faridabad: A teacher at a private school in Faridabad was allegedly stabbed to death by a masked intruder on Monday morning in an attack that unfolded during school hours and has prompted questions about campus security.
Police said the assailant entered the school through the main gate between 9.30 am and 9.40 am with his face covered with a white cloth. After spending some time inside the premises, he asked for the teacher by name.
Inspector Kewal Singh, SHO of Sector-58 Police Station, said the man pulled the teacher out of her classroom and attacked her with a knife.
According to police, the victim was stabbed 18 to 20 times, with the blows concentrated on her neck and chest. As Other teachers rushed to to help on hearing her cries, the attacker threatened them and forced them back before striking the victim again. He then fled the campus, as reported by DNA.
The injured teacher, identified as Sandhya, was taken to Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her dead, reports said. Police arrested the accuse within hours of the crime after reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.
