Berhampur: The body of a mason, who was missing for the last two days, was recovered from Ghatka river on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the mason, Gouranga Mandal of Panchama village under Golanthara police station in Ganjam district, went missing after a quarrel with his friend Siba Mandal, another mason from the same village.
The were engaged in war of words leading to a scuffle over collection of donation for Dussehra. Siba sustained injury on his head during the scuffle. As Gouranga did not return home on the day, his family members filed a missing case case in Golanthara police station.
Gouranga’s family members alleged that Siba killed Gouranga following the fight. Police said there were multiple injuries on the body of Gouranga and they had detained Siba for interrogation.
