Cuttack: A major fire broke out at a suitcase showroom in Dolamundai area of Odisha’s Cuttack city on Tuesday.
As per preliminary information, local residents noticed smoke billowing out of the shop located on the upper floor of a building in the morning and alerted the fire service officials.
On being informed, fire service personnel from Chauliaganj and Bidanasi rushed to the spot and launched an operation to douse the flames.
Sources said no one was reported to have been injured in the fire mishap so far.
While the exact cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit.
Eyewitness said that the fire broke out soon after the showroom opened for the day. They said a blast could be heard when an employee of the showroom switched on the AC and the fire erupted thereafter.
