Smrutisree Singh has again made it to the ‘Grand Dish’ wall of MasterChef India Season-6 and this time with ‘Kathal Ki Dastan’, which she made during the elimination round on February 9.
While presenting the dish to Chef Ranveer Brar, one of the judges of the cooking reality show, the 26-year-old said that she had tried to give a new look to the same dish that her mother used to cook and coax her into eating by passing it off as mutton when she was a little girl.
The chef appreciated the presentation and he almost choked while talking about its taste. “This is the best dish in this edition of MasterChef,” he said.
The other two judges – Vikas Khanna, and Vineet Bhatia – were also seen savouring the dish with Ranveer later.
“Never in my wildest dreams could I have thought that my dish would touch the heart of a strict judge like Ranveer and bring tears to his eyes. This is the best ever compliment and this is the best day of my life,” said Smrutisree.
Her preparation of Odisha’s traditional dish, ‘Nadia Kadali Kakara’, had earlier earned her a place on the wall.
Earlier in the show, Smrutisree had said, “I deserve the MasterChef India apron because I want the world to taste Odia cuisine and know more about Odisha.” And she has kept her word.
