Bhubaneswar: Parents supplying cheating material to their children was the news of the day on Saturday. Some other parents reportedly vandalised a school premise over the issue in Dhenkanal district. Responding to the incident on Sunday, School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das said that parents supplying copy is unacceptable and the administration is taking adequate steps in this regard.
“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in his fifth term has said it is his responsibility to provide quality education to the children of his family members, which are the people of Odisha. I have the responsibility to fulfill the desire of the Chief Minister and implement his instructions at the grassroots level. Action is being taken against those who are found negligent,” said Das.
The Minister said that government schools are very much sensitised and are working with due diligence. Although incidents of malpractice have been reported from one or two places in the last two days, he is optimistic that the Matric examinations will conclude on March 2 without any untoward incident.
Saturday’s incident took place at Biribulei Janata Government High School under Parjang police limits where students from four high schools were appearing for their Second Language (English) paper. Dambaru Sahu of Kankadahada was injured while attempting to supply copy sheets to his daughter during the exams.
