Matric Preparation: Odisha Teachers’ Body Releases Test Paper For BSE Class X Students

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSSTA) on Thursday released a test paper for students who will be appearing for Class 10 Board exams.

COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns have hampered students’ preparations. The test paper, compiled by select teachers across the state, is aimed at helping students prepare for the exams.

“This test paper will certainly help them address the issues,” OSSTA general secretary Prakash Chandra Mohanty said after releasing the test paper at Cuttack’s Nayasarak OSSTA office.

Prakash Chandra Mohanty, the General Secretary of OSSTA said that the COVID restrictions and subsequent lockdowns have impacted the study and preparations of the students. “This test paper will certainly help them address the issues,” he said.

“The syllabus of class 10 has been reduced by 30%. In fact, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has even altered its examination framework to a large extent, ultimately leaving the students confused,” Mohanty remarked.

“This test paper will certainly help students who could not get much time to clear their doubts on all subjects owing to online classes,” he added.

Due to the COVID-enforced closure of schools and disruptions in conduct of examinations since last year, BSE Odisha has come up with a new scheme of assessment for the 2021-22 session, for classes 9 and 10.

This year’s Class 10 Matriculation examination was cancelled because of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021-22 academic session has been redrawn from July 2021 to April 2022, sans any long vacation. The session will have two terms — July 2021 to November 2021 and December 2021 to April 2022.

Internal assessments will be conducted at the school level following the CCE pattern, in the form of 20-mark Formative Assessments (FAs).

FAs for class 9 and 10 students will be held in first week of September, November, and second week of January and March.
