Keonjhar: The District Collector-cum-Chairman and Managing Trustee of District Mineral Fund (DMF), Ashish Thakare felicitated Class X toppers of the district in a special function held here on Tuesday,
The Collector announced that all the students from Government and Government-aided schools who performed well in the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) examination will be awarded DMF HSC Scholarships ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 40,000 according to the marks scored.
More than 1,300 students in the district are expected to receive scholarships this year.
He said the bank account details of those who qualify for the scholarship are being collected and the money is being transferred to all the eligible students by the office of the District Education Officer (DEO), Keonjhar.
Out of the 21,619 students who appeared for the Class X Boards from Keonjhar district, 76.6 percent passed the exam, 5 percent more from the previous year.
According to sources, 27 students of the district secured A1 grade by scoring more than 90 percent. Out of these, 15 students including the top five rank holders are students of Government and Government-aided schools in the district.
