Bhubaneswar: Natural resource company, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, on Friday, felicitated the students who have successfully completed matriculation under its flagship CSR project in the field of education, Vedanta Vidyarthi Vikas Yojana (VVVY).
The project scripted 98 per cent success at the 2018 matriculation exams conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha. Out of 114 students who had enrolled and appeared for the exam, 112 successfully completed matriculation; and 44 students came under the first division.
Started in the year 2009, in partnership with NGO AJKA, project VVVY runs seven tutorial centres for high school children, covering 23 villages of Jharsuguda. The students feliciated were Chinmayee Panigrahy from Sripura village with 84 per cent, Hemanand Rohidas from Brundamal village at 82 per cent and Monalisha Padhan from Parmanpur village, who bagged 77 per cent.
In his address, community leader Shri Digdhan Pradhan said that parents’ most important responsibility lies in guiding their children towards realisation of their dreams and pursuing successful careers.
