Mayurbhanj mishap: CM announces Rs 2L ex-gratia for kin of deceased

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday expressed grief over the death of five labourers in Mayurbhanj district and announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for each of the victim’s family.
The accident took place around 10 am at Dama Sahi Square under Udala police limits when a van carrying 14 labourers overturned. Three labourers died on the spot while eleven others, who sustained critical injuries, were rushed to Udala sub-divisional hospital. Two among the injured later succumbed while undergoing treatment at the hospital, taking the death toll to five.
