Meet The Oldest Indian Woman To Be Administered COVID-19 Vaccine

Bengaluru: For those who are still having second thoughts about getting vaccinated against COVID-19, can take inspiration from one J Kameshwari.

The Bengaluru lady, aged 103 years, became the oldest woman in the country to get vaccinated so far as per available data, claimed Apollo Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, where she took the jab on Tuesday.

The grand old lady was accompanied by her 77-year-old son, who also got the vaccine administered.

According to reports, neither mother nor her son reported any side effect post vaccination.

India, which rolled out the world’s biggest vaccination process in January, started inoculating its senior citizens and those above 45 with comorbidities, from March 1.

Before Kameshwari, 100-year-old Mumbai resident Shashikala Joshi was the oldest woman to get vaccinated.

In Noida, a 103-year-old male was also administered the COVID-19 vaccine at a private hospital. He was accompanied by seven senior citizen members of his family, who also got their first dose.
