Chandigarh: Just one viewer turned up at Chandigarh’s City Centre Mall – IT Park on the first day of reopening of cinema halls after nearly seven months. And that man happened to be a coronavirus-recovered patient.
Fifty-year-old government employee Sandeep Shourie went to watch the 12.20 pm show of Punjabi movie ‘Carry on Jatta 2’ at the multiplex. As it turned out, he was the lone viewer in the hall with a capacity of 210.
A hardcore cinema enthusiast, Shourie said he couldn’t resist watching a movie on the first day of reopening of theatres.
He did not expect to be the only one to watch the movie. “But I loved it… My family members are also big fans of cinema. I told them, let me go first and watch a movie to check out the arrangements. I will bring them as well. The view of the big screen is something that you cannot enjoy on small screens or even online,” Shourie told The Indian Express.
Having recovered from the virus on September 24, Shourie said he has been taking all precautions now and feels safe.
