New Delhi: Mercedes is on a launching spree this year. After new S-Class, GLS Grand and Maybach S650, the company has launched its 4th car of the year – the new AMG E 63 S 4Matic+. This performance AMG edition of the E-Class has been priced at ₹ 1.5 Crore, ex-showroom country-wide.
The AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ is powered by a AMG 4 litre twin-turn V8 engine that churns out a meaty 603 bhp of power and 850 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a nine-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and like most AMGs, it is all-wheel drive too. It can do 0-100kmph in just 3.4 seconds. With this staggering number, it goes head-to-head with the BMW M5 which retails for ₹ 1.43 crores plus taxes in Bhubaneswar.
The 20-inch matte-black AMG alloys are what get your attention. The car also gets a new grill and redesigned bumpers. Air intakes and exhaust pipes have become larger than its predecessor. Compared to the standard E-Class, this is around 12mm wider.
The top speed is 300kmph with the added AMG Driver’s package. For track lovers, there is a ‘Drift Mode’ that electronically controls the power between the rear and front axles and can convert the car into a completely rear wheel drive system to give you that extra fun.
The car comes with cylinder deactivation tech, which shuts down half the cylinders to save fuel. It seats five adults.
