Mercury Dips Below 10 Degrees C At 12 Places With Cold Wave Sweeping Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With intense cold wave sweeping across Odisha, the temperature fell below 10 degree Celsius at 12 places on Thursday.

According to a release by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Phulbani continued to remain the coldest place in the state at 6.8 degree Celsius while temperature slumped to below 10 degrees in Daringbadi (8), Sonepur (8.4), Titlagarh (9), Bhawanipatna (9.3), Hirakud (9.6), Sundargarh (8.5), Sambalpur (9.1), Keonjhar (9.4), Jharsuguda (8.6), Angul (8) and Balasore (9.9).

Besides, temperature remained under 12 degrees in Koraput (10.6), Talcher (10.3), Baripada (10.4), Bhubaneswar (11.5), Cuttack (11.4) and Chandbali (11.8).

The release has predicted a further dip in the night temperature as the cold wave condition is likely to prevail in the state for the next 48 hours up to January 19.
