Bhubaneswar: Amid the prevailing coldwave conditions, four places in Odisha saw mercury dropping below 10 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.
Similiguda in Koraput was the coldest at 7.4 degree Celsius. The other three places are G Udayagiri (9 degree Celsius), Phulbani (9.5 degree Celsius) and Daringbadi (9.5 degree Celsius in Kandhamal district.
The mercury hovered around 10 degree Celsius at four other places – Nabarangpur (10 degree Celsius), Kirei in Sundargarh (10 degree Celsius), Koraput (10.2 degree Celsius) and Boudh (10.5 degree Celsius).
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.8 degree Celsius and 17 degree Celsius respectively.

According to IMD, there would be no major change in the prevailing cold trend in the next four to five days.
Head of the regional IMD centre H R Biswas said the prevailing wind pattern supported the drop in mercury level in the state by 2-3 degree Celsius.
