Bhubaneswar: After a brief respite from heat following rain in last few days, the mercury is likely to rise by 8 to 10 degree Celsius during the next three days across Odisha.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to rise by 8-10 degree C during next three days.
Similarly, minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to rise by 3-5 degree C during next three days in the state, it said. No large change in temperature is likely to take place thereafter at most places over the districts of Odisha.
While the rain and thunderstorms have brought down the temperature in most parts of the state, the temperature is likely to touch 40 degree Celsius by the end of March.
Some parts of western Odisha are expected to record the highest temperature in the State in the next few days. Boudh and Titlagarh are expected to record the highest temperature.
Likewise, other districts like Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bolangir, Rayagada and Malkangiri may witness a temperature of 38-39 degree Celsius or more, said the weather department.
The Met Centre also predicted light rain or thundershower at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Sundargarh districts in next 24 hours.
Light rain or thundershower is also likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore districts on March 24.
