Bhubaneswar: Amid an increase in the intensity of winter chill, Koraput and Similiguda recorded the lowest night temperature in Odisha at 9.5 degree Celsius followed by Kirei in Sundargarh at 10 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.
As many as 18 places in the state recorded minimum temperature below 15 degree Celsius:
Titlagarh, Balangir recorded 15 degree Celsius.
The mercury plummeted below 16 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar and stood at 15.7 degree Celsius. Cuttack city recorded 16 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, dense fog was seen at Cuttack and Phulbani and shallow to moderate fog in Sonepur, Angul, Paralakhemundi and Bhawanipatna.
