Bhubaneswar: The winter chill is likely to intensify during next three days in Odisha amid dense to very dense fog warning by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.
The minimum temperature is likely to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius and then rise by 2-3 degrees in most parts of the state.
The weather agency has issued an orange warning of very dense fog for Jajpur, and Nayagarh districts for January 5 morning. This apart, yellow warning of dense fog has been issued for the districts of Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Sundargarh and Gajapati.
The IMD also issued very dense fog warning with orange alert for the subsequent 24 hours in Jajpur and Nayagarh districts. Yellow warning of dense fog was issued for the districts of Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri & Sundargarh during the period.
Dense fog is likely to occur at several districts, including Kendrapada, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam & Gajapati till the morning of January 8.
The weather agency said there will be gradual fall in minimum temperature (Night Temperature) by 2-4 degrees Celsius during next 3-4 days and thereafter rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the state.
