Bhubaneswar: Morris Garages (MG) on Monday launched an updated version of its lone electric vehicle in India – ZS EV. It comes in two variants and are priced as follows:
Excite – Rs 20.99 lakh
Exclusive – Rs 24.18 lakh
These introductory prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
The ground clearance of the vehicle has increased to 177 mm. The battery too has been raised by 205 mm.
There is almost no change in the exterior. The interiors, however, are all-black with a new leather dashboard and seats. The touchscreen infotainment unit is an 8-inch one and comes with connected tech.
The car also has a panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps, electrically adjustable driver seat, air purifier, 6 airbags, ESC, tyre pressure monitor, rear camera, hill start and descent control, and more.
The powertrain remains the same with power output of 141 BHP and peak torque of 353 Nm. The battery is a 44.5 kWh pack that offers a maximum range of up to 419 km. It can be recharged in 6-8 hours using normal AC charger and in 50 minutes (to 80 per cent) using a 50 kW DC fast charger.
The SUV does 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds.
Currently, the ZS EV is available in 31 Indian cities, including Bhubaneswar. There is a 5 years / unlimited km warranty, 5 years roadside assistance, 5 labour free service and 8 years / 1.5 lakh km battery warranty.
The other electric cars in this price range are the Tata Nexon EV and Hyundai Kona EV.
