Migrant Workers Escape After Pulling Chain Of Shramik Special Train In Ganjam

Berhampur: Several migrant workers escaped after pulling the chain of the Shramik Special Train in Ganjam district on Sunday.

According to reports, the train was on the way from Nampally station in Hyderabad to Odisha, carrying the migrant workers including some from Ganjam district. As the train did not stop at Jagannthpur and Berhampur, several migrant workers pulled the chain at Baligarh near Chhatrapur railway station and alighted from the train.

Following information, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) detailed 60 migrant workers and sent them to a government quarantine centre at Chhatrapur while the remaining workers managed to escape.

The train later left and was on the way to Khurda Road but was detained at the Kalijai railway station as it did not get the signal. Taking this opportunity, some migrant workers managed to escape from the train.

Following information, a team of policemen of Bhejiput police station rushed to the railway station and sent the workers to their respective destinations.
