Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday forecast a fall in the night temperature by 2-3°C during the next 24 hours.
“…no large change during the subsequent 3 days and thereafter rise by 2-3°C over the districts of Odisha,” according to the midday bulletin.
The state has been witnessing a rise in the minimum temperature over the past two weeks. The mercury level was 2°C above normal at a few places in Interior Odisha and below normal by about 2-3°C at one or two places in North Interior Odisha in the last 24 hours. Semiliguda in Koraput district was the coldest place in the state at 8.7°C, followed by G Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal district, at 9°C. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 15.4°C and 16.6°C respectively.
Very dense fog engulfed Paradip this morning, reducing visibility below 50 metres.
While there is no warning, shallow to moderate fog may occur in coastal districts of the state till February 11 morning.
