Malkangiri: A minor girl, who went missing from Malkangiri district, was rescued from Ranchi in Jharkhand on Friday.
According to sources, the girl had left home after having an argument with her father. She boarded a bus for Umerkote on April 5. From there, she went to Raipur in Chhattisgarh and then to Ranchi in Jharkhand.
She was rescued from Ranchi bus stand by police about 10 days ago.
Meanwhile, the girl’s father Laxman Sisha informed the Balimela police about it and requested them to rescue his daughter.
A team of Balimela police then left for Ranchi and brought the girl back to Odisha. She was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on Friday.
After having a conversation with the girl, the committee members came to know that her father and mother were separated over some family dispute.
After counselling by the CWC, the family decided to move into one house.
